District Governor
Edward Morrison (Oshawa Parkwood)

District Governor
Edward (Ted) Morrison

A member of the Oshawa Parkwood Rotary Club, Ted has a distinguished record of service in Rotary. A passionate, committed Rotarian Ted has served his club on the Board of Directors and as President (2000). As Membership Chair his recruitment campaign brought in eleven new members. As Chair of the Rotary Information committee, Ted instituted “The Rotary Moment” at every meeting making his fellow club members aware of Rotary programs and its rich history. His club has presented awards to Ted including “Rotarian of the Year” (1998), “Paul Harris Fellowship” (2001), and “Outstanding Service to Rotary Award” (2006). Ted serves District 7070 as an Assistant Governor (3 years), a member of the grants committee, a member of the Visioning Team assisting clubs with their long-range planning and as a speaker at District Assemblies.

Married to Sharron, they live in Oshawa and have two children- Scott and Hilary and four wonderful grandchildren: Mackenzie, Colton, Maggie and Tom. Ted was educated at the University of Waterloo (B.Sc. 1968) and at Queen’s University (M.Ed. 1974). A retired Secondary School Principal, Ted’s distinguished career provided him leadership opportunities in staff and curriculum development and in strategic planning. Ted’s commitment to service began long before he joined Rotary. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Durham Children’s Aid Society and on the Board of the United Way, chairing the Education Employees campaign.

Ted is excited about this new challenge ahead.
