The
Rotary Club of Toronto Eglinton is providing financial support
to Engineers Without Borders to support Selena Lam, a young
Canadian Engineering Physics engineer, who is working on the
Prey Veng Safe Water Project in Phnom Phenh Cambodia.

Selena
supports a local women’s pottery cooperative that makes
2,500 Ceramic Water Purifiers a month. She is assisting them
in improving the design of the filter to reduce maintenance
and expanding production to 5,000 per month. These Ceramic
Water Purifiers provide a low cost way of producing safe drinking
water from contaminated sources such as open wells, ponds
streams and even floodwater for thousands of Cambodians.
