Fiona Nelson Award

The Fiona Nelson Award is given by Healthy Beginnings Inc. to the individual(s) in the geographic area of Rotary District 7070 that have made a significant contribution to the advancement of the development of children from preconception to age six. The award honours significant contributions to the improvement of some aspect of community service for children from zero to age six.

This award is open to Rotarians and non-Rotarians.

Fiona Nelson is a former school teacher, school trustee, politician and strong advocate for the development of children particularly from preconception to age six.

Rotarians are asked to nominate a person for the award and send their nomination to Frances Buczko at francesbuczko@sympatico.ca by October 20th of each year. Nominations are accepted throughout the year.

The award is presented at the Healthy Beginnings Inc. Annual General Meeting in November.
