The CDN Rotary Centennial Afghanistan Challenge
We built that school!....Yahoo!!!
Hosted by: Date:Thursday July 1, 2010
We did it! The Rotary Clubs of District 7070 supported the challenge from our federal government to help build a school in Jalalabad, Afghanistan to celebrate 100 years of Rotary in Canada. A number of Rotary Clubs from across Canada joined together and raised $300,000 for the construction and furnishing of a school for Grades 1-12. The school will offer 4,000 girls and boys a solid eduction for a hope-filled future. Construction is underway!
The school is just one of three projects that make up the Afghanistan Challenge. The next project will be challenging the youth of Canada to get involved during the 2010-2011 school year. The details of the next project will be unveiled on August 1, 2010. For those that would like a sneak peak please email: info@afghanistanschool.ca and you will be directed to an exclusive behind-the-scenes internet address where you will be able to view the website as a work in progress!
