The Perfect Husband
Several men are in a locker room of
a golf club. A cell phone on a bench rings and a man
engages the hands free speaker function and begins to
talk. The other men stop to listen.
| Man: |
“Hello” |
| Woman: |
“Honey, it’s me. Are you at the Club?” |
| Man: |
“Yes” |
| Woman: |
“I am at the mall now and found this beautiful
leather coat. It’s only $1,000. Is it okay
if I buy it?” |
| Man: |
“Sure, go ahead if you like it that much.” |
| Woman: |
“I stopped at the Mercedes dealership and
saw the new 2005 models. I saw one I really liked.” |
| Man: |
“How much?” |
| Woman: |
“$60,000” |
| Man: |
“Okay, but for that price I want it with
all the options.” |
| Woman: |
“Great! Oh, and one more thing… The
house we wanted last year is back on the market.
They’re asking $750,000.” |
| Man: |
“Well, then go ahead and give them an offer,
but just offer $700,000.” |
| Woman: |
“Okay. I’ll see you later! I love
you!” |
| Man: |
“Bye” |
| The man hangs up. The other men in
the locker room are looking at him in astonishment. |
Then he asks: “Anyone know who
this phone belongs to?”
Declaration of Rotarians in Business and Professions:
(brought to you by your Vocational Service Group)
The Declaration of
Rotarians in Business and Professions was adopted by
the Rotary International Council on Legislation in 1989
to provide more specific guidelines for the high ethical
standards called from in the Object of Rotary:
Offer my vocational talents:
to provide opportunities for young people, to work for
the relief of the special needs of others and to improve
the quality of life in my community.
God's E-mail
One day God was looking down at Earth
and saw all of the unholy behavior that was going on.
He decided to send an angel to Earth to check it out.
So he sent an angel to Earth for a time.
When the angel returned, he told God,
"Yes, it truly is bad on Earth; 95% are misbehaving
and only 5% are not."
God was not pleased. So He decided to
E-mail the 5% that were good, because He wanted to encourage
them, give them a little something to help them keep
going.
Do you know what the E-mail said? Just
wondering, I didn't get one either...

One is not rich by what one owns,
but more by what one is able to do with dignity. –
Immanuel Kant, Philosopher (1724 – 1804)
Man should not consider his material possessions his
own, but common to all, so as to share them without
hesitation when others are in need. – Thomas Aquinas,
