June is Rotary Fellowships Month

Dear fellow Rotarians,

.Fellowship is Rotary International’s focus for the month of June.  Many of us joined Rotary for community service, but our involvement in club social activities is one of the reasons we stay.

Many clubs have a yearly rhythm of social activities.  These may include a late summer corn roast, holiday season wine and cheese party, Family Day Hike, Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day events, and spring social dinners hosted by Rotarians in their homes for Rotarians........

COVID-19 changed all of this in March.  Many Clubs were quick to embrace Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Google Meet for club meetings and social events including pot luck dinners, a virtual cooking club, wine tastings, and cocktail parties.  Member care activities including phone calls, emails, and text messages helped keep everyone connected, and demonstrated our caring for one another.

We held a ‘Together-Apart Virtual Governors’ Annual Dinner’ for our Past District Governors and their significant others on May 27th.  We’ve planned a virtual ‘Year End Celebration. District Awards. Changeover.‘ event on Tuesday June 30th from 6:45 PM-8:00 PM.  Please plan to join us!  Register online on the district website.

With June being Rotary Fellowships Month, please take a look and join one or more of the world-wide Rotary Fellowships on the Rotary.org website. Rotary Fellowships are international groups that share a common passion. Being part of a fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world, explore a hobby or profession, and enhance your Rotary experience.

Club meetings and social activities are happening throughout the district to keep Rotarians, Rotaractors and Interactors ‘connected’.  Join in and have fun!

Yours in Rotary,

Beth
