The Rotary Club of Whitby’s AIDS ACTION Committee is promoting AIDS awareness, education and gather donations to support their 3 local agencies that work in a variety of ways for those affected and infected by AIDS.

The three agencies we as a Club programme hope to help with 10 Holiday Hampers for families in need are The Positive Care Clinic Lakeridge Whitby; The AIDS Committee of Durham Region and the John Howard Society of Oshawa.

All Rotary Clubs in District 7070 are invited to attend and support the work of this hard working group. There will be an event held during National AIDS Week on Wed. Nov. 28th from 6:30pm to 900 pm at the new Abilities Center, 55 Gordon Street,  in Whitby in the Lounge and it is called A SLICE OF LIFE .

The object of the event is to have at least 6-8 tables of participants with a special guest at each table who will engage their table with their "Slice of Life" dealing with AIDS in a personal manner and then the participants move on to the next table. During the event various "slices of food" will be available and as well wine and beer...coffee/tea.

The outcome of this new event, will depend on your personal donations.

Tickets are available by calling Joanne Ashley at 905-571-4829 or any member of the Rotary Club of Whitby.

This evening is open to the public and we cordially invite and encourage all Rotary Clubs in District 7070  to send a few representatives to learn and network and report back to their Club.

There is no charge for admission as outlined donations welcomed.

Help us raise the funds we need for the Holiday Hampers and to learn about the needs in our community.
