End Polio Now Flag raised at Durham Region Headquarters

Thank you to Durham Regional Chair (and fellow Rotarian) John Henry who proclaimed October 24 as World Polio Day in the entire Regional Municipality of Durham, Ontario, Canada today and we raised the End Polio Now Flag. On hand were Chairman Henry, Rotary International District 7070 Governor Beth Selby, and the Presidents and the Rotarains from the 10 Rotary Clubs in Durham Region (Ajax, Bowmanville, Courtice, Oshawa, Oshawa-Parkwood, Pickering, Port Perry, Uxbridge, Whitby, and Whitby-Sunrise). This week, many cities and towns all over Ontario, Canada and the rest of the world will be raising flags and proclaiming October 24 World Polio Day in honour of all of the Rotarians who work so hard to help eradicate Polio from the entire world. We really are so very close. We think that Durham Region may be the only Regional Municipality in Ontario to declare October 24 as World Polio Day.
