To All of our Rotary friends in District 7070:

I finally managed to book my return ticket to Laos, after 6 weeks of trying .

In lieu of that, I now have a hard deadline on raising the funds for the water project in Huey Hid, northern Laos. In a nutshell the project is estimated to be $44,000.  We have asked for whatever funds are manageable to your Rotary club. To date, we have raised $37,250, including a matching grant that was approved on Monday. We can't spend it of course until we reach the Matching grant target of $10,000 from District 7070 clubs and of course the overall target. We are almost at the $10K target. We do have a number of clubs that haven't committed yet but we are expecting to hear your club soon.

I would sincerely appreciate an update from your club as soon as you are able.

Deadline Quickly Approaching for Laos Water Filters - November 21, 2022:

With Christmas just a couple of months away, the team at Adopt A Village in Laos is preparing for its' first distribution of water filters in time for Christmas. By far, its most popular program, donations of $125 for each water filter will get a tax receipt, and an emailed picture of the receiving family in Laos in time for the holiday season. Etransfer your payment to SRutledge@bell.net or call Steve at 905-269-2255 with visa/master card information. We will need your email address, mailing address (for CRA requirements) and a caption/phrase or name of the person/people you would like to honour. Feel free to send a picture, or we will use the Canadian flag (or flag of your choosing) as the background. Whether it be as a Christmas Gift, In Memoriam of a loved one, or simply to provide clean water to a rural family, feel free to contact us.

Meanwhile, here is a Youtube link to our latest video, to show you our accomplishments over the last season.  https://youtu.be/pAmVdFSlt1w
