Greetings Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors and Earlyactors, !!.
Can you believe it’s already March?
The months are absolutely sailing by. I am truly enjoying this year with you — and while part of me is very ready to be back in flip flops, there’s another part that doesn’t want June to come too fast. Serving alongside you during this District year has been such a gift.
February was full — in the very best way!
District Governor Interviews – Congratulations to Terry Caputo on being selected as our future District Governor. Exciting times ahead!
East Toronto Connection Meeting – Always inspiring to see collaboration in action.
Whitby Sunrise’s Savour the Flavour – What an incredible event. Energy, fellowship, and impact all in one room.
President-Elect Training – The next wave of leadership is strong!
Learning Tuesday – Continuing to equip and empower our clubs.
EPIC Day of Service Event (East Area) – Nine clubs came together in Campbellford for a Kids Against Hunger Food Packing Day, beautifully organized by Donna (Trenton) and Joyce (Brighton). Watching nine clubs unite for one cause was exactly what Unite for Good looks like in action. So much momentum. So much heart.
March is Water, Sanitation & Hygiene Month
Rotary’s focus in March is one of our seven Areas of Focus: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH). Rotary International recognizes that access to clean water, proper sanitation, and hygiene education changes everything — health, education, economic opportunity, and dignity.
Here’s why it matters:
2+ billion people worldwide lack access to safely managed drinking water.
Clean water reduces the spread of disease.
Sanitation facilities allow girls to stay in school.
Hygiene education builds healthier communities for generations.
As Rotarians, we don’t just provide wells — we create sustainable systems, train communities, and build long-term solutions.
This month, I encourage your club to:
Invite a speaker to educate members on global or local water issues.
Explore a new partnership aligned with this Area of Focus.
Water is life. And together, we bring life-changing impact.
International Women’s Day – March 5
This is a night you do not want to miss.
We will celebrate International Women’s Day with two incredible women from our District sharing their Rotary journeys, followed by a powerful panel featuring the four women on your District Governor Team.
It will be an evening of:
Inspiration
Leadership stories
Courage
Celebration
It’s time to honour and celebrate the remarkable women across District 7070 who are leading, mentoring, serving, and shaping our future.
Let’s fill the room.
Learning Tuesday – March 17 - Governance Support
In March, our Learning Tuesday will focus on:
“What Support Can the Governance Committee Offer to Clubs?”
If you’ve ever wondered:
What policies should we have in place?
How do we handle club bylaws?
Where do we turn for guidance?
This session is for you. Strong governance builds strong clubs — and strong clubs create lasting impact.
Reminders & What’s Ahead
