Nancy Byers - wife of Past District Governor Doug Byers
It is with great sadness that we tell our Rotary family that Nancy Byers, wife of our District 7070 Past District Governor Doug Byers, passed away on December 31. Our thought and our prayers are with Doug and the family.
Peacefully, after a short illness, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday December 31st, 2020. Beloved wife of Doug Byers. Loving mother of Elizabeth Greenland (Graham). Cherished grandmother of Ruby. Predeceased by parents Elizabeth and Joseph Puskas and brother David. A special thank you to the Critical Care Unit at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their exceptional care. Nancy was a highly respected teacher at Adelaide McLaughlin Public School in Oshawa for many years. A private family funeral was held and a celebration of life event will be held at a future date. Donations in memory of Nancy may be made to the Rotary Foundation or Lakeridge Health Oshawa Critical Care Unit. Arrangements entrusted to DeStefano Funeral Home, Oshawa.
Carol Browne - Rotary Club of Bowmanville
It is with great sadness we share the passing of Rotarian Carol Browne PHF. Carol joined the Rotary Club of Bowmanville in the early 90s and was an active member of the club for many years serving as Club Secretary and co-chairing the auction committee. Our thoughts are with your family during this painful time.
Carol passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces on Friday January 8, 2021, in her 65th year. Dearly beloved wife of Michael of 47 years. Loving mother of Christy Whiteman (Jassen) and Kelly Pereira (Richard). Cherished Nana of Jackson, Reese, and Nicholas. Dear sister of Debbie Kernaghan (Sandy) and predeceased by her sister Judy Chapman. Survived by brother in law Al. Dear daughter of the late Raymond and Bernadette Cherryholme. Will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends. Carol was a long time bank manager with RBC and a member of the Rotary Club of Bowmanville.
