Having received no challenges to the Selection Committee’s decision, I am delighted to inform you that Terry Caputo, from the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise, has been selected as the Rotary International District 7070 District Governor for the Rotary Year 2028-29. Terry will be a great addition to our District Governor Team joining me, Immediate Past District Governor Virginia O'Reilly and District Governor Elect Liz Compton, and District Governor Nominee Tina Martin.

LET'S MEET TERRY:
Terry has been a proud Rotarian for over 30 years. He started his Rotary journey as a charter member of the Rotary Club of Courtice. After a one year break due to professional commitments, he continued the journey joining the Rotary Club of Whitby Sunrise where he currently is a member in good standing. Terry has held several leadership roles in his Club including participation on event committees, taking on the Board roles of Director, Treasurer and President in 2015-2016. He then transitioned to District leadership roles including Assistant District Governor for three years and the last seven years as Governance Committee Chair. Terry enjoys supporting Clubs in navigating difficult and sensitive issues. He prides himself in being people and partnership oriented, brining key Rotarians together to achieve Club goals.
In his professional life, Terry is the Executive Vice President of Royal Victoria Regional Centre. Most of Terry’s career has been focused on healthcare, leading hospitals towards financial stability and redevelopment by implementing successful strategies, building partnerships and leadership collaboration.
Terry is a resident of Oshawa, where he and wife Carol have raised their two children Michael and Alexandra. They enjoy spending as much time as possible together now that the children are fully grown and out on their own. The travelling to sports tournaments and coaching teams have been replaced by family outings to Niagara-On-The-Lake and travelling internationally.
