My apologies for emailing you again so soon. The last few months have seen an extraordinary number of devastating disasters but as one of our dedicated supporters, we want to keep you appraised of our work around the world.
A flash flood swept through northern Nepal on August 26, killing hundreds of people and leaving many thousands homeless. More than 900 people are still missing as entire villages have been destroyed by the floodwaters.
The speed and force of the flood caught everyone completely off guard. Homes were engulfed in seconds, leaving families with little chance to escape. Those who managed to reach safety could only watch as their homes, belongings and livelihoods were swept away.

We are working hard to understand what people need most and are ready to help with emergency aid such as thermal blankets, water filters, family tents and more.
Unfortunately, the danger isn't over. There is a risk of further flash flooding in the region, putting even more lives at risk and communities in danger.
