The District 7070 Learning/Training committee works closely with our District Governor Liz Compton and the District Governor Elect Tina Martin to arrange the learning and training requirements that meet the need of the district membership. The committee populates all the District Leaning and Training Events on the District Website, at this time all dates, times and locations have been populated. Here is our plan for 2026-27….
Rotary Leaning Institute (RLI) Program 2026/2027
Fall 2026 is OnLine: The format and structure of the online program will be delivered over 9 weeks during weekday evenings. Each Part will take 3 weeks to complete. Each weeknight consists of two (2) RLI courses with the schedule: 6 to 8 PM: Part I - Sept 9, 16 and 23; Part II - Oct 7, 14 and 21: Part III - Nov 4, 11 and 18. Meeting: Zoom video-conference. Number of Participants: Up to 20 participants maximum.
Spring 2027 - IN PERSON - The in-person program usually involves running Parts I, II, and III concurrently assuming there is sufficient registration of Rotarians. The venue will be at Centennial College Event Centre in Scarborough on May 17, 2027. The maximum number of members per Part is 16 The typical schedule is 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and all 6 courses will be completed.
Learning Tuesdays Program 2026/2027 - Third Tuesday of the Month on Zoom from 7 pm to 8 pm
Rotary District 7070 "Learning Tuesdays" are monthly, 1-hour virtual workshops designed as building opportunities for our Rotarians to grow their knowledge and skills.
Hosted via Zoom on the 3rd Tuesday of the month from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., these sessions cover topics like club governance, membership, public image, and many other that have been raised by Rotarians in District 7070.
There are 9 Learning Tuesdays sessions during the year. The committee created a focus form that helps with putting tighter the Learning Tuesday .

President Elect Learning (PELs) & Assistant Governor Training (AG) - Oshawa Golf Club - Feb 27, 2027 - 8 am to 3 pm
The President Elect Learning (PELs) is a crucial training program design to equip the incoming presidents with training and tools to ensure that their upcoming year is successful. The training is overseen by the DGE Tina Martin. It is broken up into two parts: an in-person part and an online virtual part.
The PELs training is mandatory for all incoming President Elects. A special AG training module is offered for the AGs and it is conducted at the in-person event.
The PELs and AGs training is offered after the District Governor Elect returns from the International Assembly. This will be February 20, 2027. This year the in person PELs will be held at the Oshawa Golf Club in Oshawa.
The virtual PELs training will be held online from 7 to 8:30 on Zoom over the span of a number of weeks: Feb 24, March 3, March 10 and March 24
District Assembly - May 17, 2027 - Centennial College Event Centre - 8 am to 2 pm
It is the annual training event designed to prepare incoming club officers, committee chairs, and board members for their upcoming leadership roles. The District Assembly is open to all Rotarians in our District, all Rotarians in our District are encouraged to take part. Moreover, at the District Assembly the District Budget for the 2027/2028 Rotary Year will be voted on by the President Elects. It is early on now, details will follow
